Lack of Services
According to the Department of Justice study, Needs Assessment for Service Providers and Trafficking Victims: The need for appropriate shelter is the top priority (among 98% of those interviewed). Victims face many barriers that prevent them from accessing services that meet their special needs. Traditional shelters for homeless or victims of domestic violence are neither ready made nor automatically appropriate for victims of human trafficking. There are less than 50 beds available in the U.S.
"I am very impressed by Emily's dedication to her vision of a shelter for sex trafficking victims, and she has clearly researched the issue. In the United States there is a serious lack of safe shelter for women and girls who have been victims of this brutal offense, and who have very specialized needs for restoration of body, mind, and soul. On Eagles Wings will be a pinpoint of light in this dark situation and Shared Hope International is anxious to see them succeed." Nancy Winston, National Awareness, Member Board of Directors, Shared Hope International
"All the years that I have offered help and oversight to ministries and non-profits as they began their baby-steps, I have to say I have never seen one as organized as this one. I see nothing but success in their vision to reach into an aching community and bring about rescue and restoration." Shirley Wood, D.Min., Regional Director Logos Global Network
"My heart breaks for the young girls exposed to this brutality. May God work mightily through The Hope House!" Elsa Colopy, Author, Speaker, Colorado
"This is home is so needed and having it will be a huge blessing not only to those who work in anti-trafficking fields, but of course to the survivors as well! just to have a safe place to go and heal will greatly improve the lot of survivors here in America." Teresa Roe, FL
"At Christ Fellowship, we relish the privilege of having a cooperative working and serving relationship with On Eagles Wings Ministries and the Hope House. The Hope House and On Eagles Wings Ministries have provided tangible ways for our church to participate in being part of the solution. " Pastor Tanner Cline, Christ Fellowship, Asheville NC
"endless supply of victims" Andrew Oosterbaan, Chief of the Child Exploitation U.S. Department of Justice
"They are seduced, they are tricked, they
are lured into this practice and then they lose the ability to walk away. These kids literally become 21st century slaves."
Ernie Allen, President and CEO, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
